Felony Assault Charges in Southern California

California Prisons

Lawrence Phillips was once the pride of the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team, wracking up touchdowns and yards at will.  However, over the last twelve years, the running back has had frequent run ins with the law, and now faces up to 25 years in jail for felony assault.

Phillips stands accused in a San Diego court of choking his girlfriend twice, once into unconsciousness in 2005.  He is already serving a 10 year sentence for running down and hitting some teenagers in Los Angeles with his car.  The felony assault charges he is facing are in addition to other felony charges.
