Celebrities and the Police

Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Suge Knight

Celebrities are notorious for getting into trouble, and the police often have to keep an eye on certain celebrities who get into more trouble than others. Here's a snap shot of the celebs who've gotten into trouble, just in the last few weeks:

  • The Clark County district attorney's office is seeking charges against Marion "Suge" Knight in the alleged beating of his girlfriend in August. A criminal complaint being processed Tuesday in Las Vegas Justice Court charges Knight with two counts of felony drug possession and one count of misdemeanor battery. He was arrested by police in August.
  • An up-and-coming fashion designer who has worked with A-list celebrities was convicted Thursday of sexually assaulting seven girls and women, some of them aspiring models lured to Los Angeles with promises of jobs and stays at luxury hotels..
  • "Soul Train" host Don Cornelius has been charged with three counts of spousal battery, one count of dissuading a witness from making a police report, and one count of assault with a deadly weapon. Cornelius was arrested by police last month after allegedly getting into it with a woman at his home. The 72-year-old is married but cops aren't saying if the alleged victim was his wife. The charges that were just filed by the L.A. City Attorney -- all misdemeanors -- stem from two separate incidents. Cornelius could get five years if convicted of all charges.
  • The "Hills" co-star Spencer Pratt was on his way out to a romantic dinner date when he was pulled over by police for not displaying his license plates, subsequently receiving a ticket.
  • Heather Locklear has just been charged with one count of driving under the influence of drugs....prescription medications. No alcohol and no illegal narcotics were found in Heather's system. Santa Barbara County Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter tells us they believe the prescription medications found in her system "could have impaired her ability to safely drive a motor vehicle."
  • Ace Gordon celebrated being voted off on "Survivor: Gabon" with a drunken boozefest that reportedly ended in a throwdown with the police. Gordon was busted for disorderly intoxication, obstruction of an officer and resisting arrest without violence after reportedly being tossed out of a bar in Naples, Fla. for striking a woman.
  • Mark Cuban might be knitting a poncho in the near future -- because the Dallas Mavericks owner was just charged with insider trading. The SEC claims Cuban dumped 100% of the stock he owned in a company called Mamma.com, after he learned the company was going to execute a financial transaction that usually reduces the company's stock value.
  • The season six winner of "The Bachelor" continued her losing streak with law enforcement this weekend -- after police say she unleashed a drunken, unprovoked attack on an innocent police car. Mary Delgado -- who was arrested last year for allegedly punching her fiance, "Bachelor" Byron Velvick -- was busted by police again on Saturday night for public intoxication, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct at Lorina's Cantina in Del Rio, Texas.
  • New York Giants offensive tackle Kareem McKenzie was charged with drunken driving after a traffic stop Thursday night. McKenzie was stopped by the police after he cut through a gas station lot at about 9:30 p.m., said Little Falls police Lt. Salvatore Calafiore. A Breathalyzer test found McKenzie's blood-alcohol level was above New Jersey's legal limit of 0.08. He was taken to police headquarters and released later that night, Calafiore said.
